Future Aggie Veterinary Experience
The Future Aggie Veterinary Experience (FAVE) is a six-day experiential summer program
for 12 undergraduate students interested in pursuing a career in veterinary medicine.
FAVE provides students the opportunity to participate in interactive problem-solving sessions, clinical learning activities, sessions with guidance on how to prepare
a competitive veterinary school application, and much more.
About FAVE

- No charge for attendance
- Housing provided for participants at the Texas A&M’s White Creek Apartments—located near the Veterinary & Biomedical Education Complex
- Meals provided for participants—breakfast, lunch, and evening meals
- Travel to our campus in College Station, Texas, and remaining for the entirety of the six-day experience required
- Collegial and professional conduct is required of all participants—in accordance with Texas A&M and VMBS values
Eligibility

- Must be enrolled in college as an undergraduate student
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Must have a cumulative grade point average (GPA) between 2.9 and 4.0
(Note: GPA requirements are based on a 4.0 scale.) - Preference will be given to students with disadvantaged backgrounds (including educationally and/or economically disadvantaged, as well as first-generation college students)
- Applicants must establish an educationally or economically disadvantaged background by meeting two or more of the following criteria:
- Originate from or have a permanent residence established in a Texas county designated as a veterinary underserved area by the most recent cycle of the USDA Veterinary Medical Loan Repayment Program or the Texas Rural Veterinarian Incentive Program.
- Have a rural background
- Be the first-generation in their family to attend college (neither parent nor legal guardian completed a bachelor’s degree or higher)
- Pell Grant recipient-eligible
- Texas Grant recipient-eligible
- Title I high school graduate with a low-income level of at least 35%
- Have a low family annual income based on the Federal Poverty Guidelines and federal income tax return
- A family is a group of two or more individuals related by birth, marriage, or adoption who live together.
- A household may be only one person.

1) The APPLICATION DEADLINE is in February of each year.
2) A copy of your unofficial transcripts from ALL colleges and/or universities attended must be submitted in addition to this application.
Please note: FAVE applicants must have a cumulative GPA between 2.9 and 4.0 to be considered for the program.

3) TWO EVALUATIONS with REFERENCE LETTERS from counselors/advisors, faculty members, or veterinary professionals must be submitted in addition to this application and your transcripts.
